• A Foundation (Yayasan) is a non-profit legal entity established for social, religious, or humanitarian purposes. Unlike a limited liability company, a foundation is not allowed to distribute profits to its founders, management, or any related parties. All assets and income of the foundation must be used solely to achieve its objectives as stated in its Articles of Association.

In practice, a foundation may receive donations, grants, or other lawful contributions, and it may conduct business activities provided that such activities are directly related to its objectives and all proceeds are used to support its social purposes.
